Undergrad Research Project - Monopole Antenna Array

Spring 2008

Project description

The project REAL chamber, in its current state, is limited to measuring the properties of a single mounted antenna. My aim in this project is to build an antenna array to be used in cooperation with the chamber to expand learning capabilities. The array will use several IQ modulators together to allow a user to change the direction, frequency, and phase of a beam, and accurately measure the resulting output of the array. Professor Stancil and I would like to use this array as an educational tool to further the utility of the pREAL facilities, allow students to actively demonstrate their knowledge, and plot results.
