Project description

To design and build a vacuum tube amplified microphone, following vintage style designs, through making use of modern components and design techniques to minimize noise, size, and power consumption, while maximizing sonic performance. Also to design and construct a specialized impedance matched pre-amplifier and equalizer to minimize required components in the recording signal chain, resulting in a complete system for (primarily) recording vocals in a studio scenario. To evaluate and improve, testing will be mainly performed in the CFA recording studio with live talent.
