Project description

Work with a team to develop and test a 1/6 scale lunar lander that weighs about 8lbs. Its purpose is help predict how the full scale lunar lander will behave in various landing situations. The 1/6 scale model will need to be loaded up with instrumentation to record the accelerations and stresses on various parts of the lander from tests in different landing scenarios. NASA has shown that there is a strong correlation between 1/6 scale and full size when it comes to a lunar lander. Ideally, the 1/6 scale model data will be reasonable and be able to be scaled to the full size lunar lander.
